Marjolein

The multi-script type family ‘Marjolein’ is designed for magazines orientated towards culture, travel and environmental issues. It covers Latin, Greek and Thai scripts and has styles for both text and display settings. Marjolein, scientific name Origanum majorana, is a common species of Origanum, a genus of the mint family. The name Marjolein is indigenous to Cyprus and southern Turkey, and was known to the Greeks and Romans as a symbol of happiness.

Marjolein is a typeface I made during the master program in Reading. For now I am only using Marjolein for in house projects. I have used it for example in the recipe booklet “De Vlaamse Pot”.
