Prinsengracht 969
I painted a new house-number at a bed & breakfast studio on the Prinsengracht, Amsterdam.
The building is a traditional canal house from 1690. It was an honour (and a little bit scary) to paint on something with such a long history.
Besides the house number I also made a little instruction for how to use the doorbell.
The style of the numbers is inspired on a combination of “De Amsterdamse krulletter”, a French model and the previous house number.
